About Amira

Amira fell into dance as a child as a way to help rebuild muscle and form in her feet and legs due to a birth defect. She started dancing at Debbie Copeland's School of Dance at the age of five focusing mainly on Lyrical, Ballet, and Jazz.

Years later, she changed schools and added to my knowledge by focusing on lyrical and modern dance as a way to channel my performances to the more creative. At Evelyn Ott School of Dance in Norfolk, VA, During this time, she practiced, performed, and competed with Charisma Dance Company. At the age of 16, she received the honor of Senior Graduate from Dance Masters of America.

As a young adult, Amira chose to stop competing with the team and began to explore other forms of dance such as burlesque and belly dance. But from 2002 to 2006, she took a hiatus from dance when she met her husband and later became a mom.

In 2008, she began receiving formal tribal belly dance training from Nadira of Serenity Tribal and had the honor of performing with the troupe Les Fleurs Ebenes led by Nadira during this period.

In 2010, she moved moved to Johnstown, PA and is currently seeking a venue to begin regular classes in the hopes to bring belly dance into Western Pennsylvania.

Amira has received her General Skills Certification from Carolena Nericcio of FatChanceBellyDance and has attended conferences to study under Onca O'Leary of the Mezmer Society, Olivia Kissel of Zafira Dance Company, Malia the Diamond of Hawaii and many more.
